Ferry County Memorial Health doctor Sam Artzis was featured in the Spokesman Review for leading northeast Washington through the pandemic against a wall of misinformation. Dr. Artzis lead the team at Ferry County Memorial Health in distributing vaccine doses through Ferry, Stevens, and Pend-Orielle counties to those who were eligible during the earliest days of the vaccine’s distribution.
Dr. Artzis has also taken the helm in responding to the pandemic and its unique spread in his county. During an April 2021 “superspreader” event, Dr. Artzis and his team went into the community to proactively address COVID infections. While Artzis struggles with misinformation about the virus in his community, he credits the efforts of his team for keeping him going.
